Ha haaa ha. I couldn’t control my laughter after I overheard
one of my students saying this in class.
Perception and time change but this bond of love remains the
same for every brother and sister.
Raksha Bandhan was
around thought of trying out some beautiful handmade rakhis with quilled paper.
This one is an easy and beautiful way to show your love and
respect to your dearest brother.
Material required:
quilling paper, quilling tool, glue, colourful threads and some embellishments
Procedure:
Select a particular colored strip and insert one end of it
into the quilling tool. Hold your index paper on of quilled paper so that we
get a uniformly placed paper wheel.
Make
a loose coil of a specific size and stick the open end of the wheel with glue. After
the coils open end is pasted you could mould it into any shape.
I have used tear drop shape for this rakhi.
For the next rakhi follow the same procedure as above. Make an
open coil, glue the open end and then press it at one end in slant direction. This
is called as petal shape
This is how it should look. Make alternate color Petal shapes.
For the underlay cut a circular thick paper and assemble all
the shape on it with glue
Allow the glue to dry and then stick the colored thread on the back side of the Rakhi.
Now stick some embellishment of your choice on the rakhi.I
have also used glitter tubes to decorate the rakhis.
Thus your hand made rakhi is ready.
